PHILIPPOS PLIATSIKAS MUSIC FOR A BOOK

FROM WEDNESDAY NOVEMBER 24

& EVERY WEDNESDAY

FOR A LIMITED NUMBER OF PERFORMANCES

Directed by Costa Gakis

Guest star: PYGMALION DADAKARIDIS

Philippos Pliatsikas takes to the stage of the Michael Cacoyannis Foundation and presents the play MUSIC FOR A BOOK.  A musical performance with selected excerpts from his new book entitled “The Emperor’s  Aide-de-camp” published by Psychogios.  A narrative followed by songs and songs followed by a narrative.

A musical (but not only ) performance far from what is expected!

From Wednesday 24th November and every Wednesday for a limited number of performances, Philippos Pliatsikas, together with the actress Ioanna Papakonstantinou, the musician Harris Michailidis, and Pygmalion Dadkaridis, through audiovisual media, bring us a performance employing, as his main weapons, his narrative speech and his music.  Two sides of the same nature, for the first time come together, harmoniously, in one performance.

Six years after his firs novel, Philippos felt the need – during the pandemic –  to travel through time and to places near and far, posing questions such as:

What defines our path?  Is it fate?  Is it luck?  A god?

A story of real life, through the corridors of the most popular and influential band, is mixed with a fantastical story which emerges through the pages of a book, waiting, for centuries now, for something that will never come.

Costas Gakis takes on the direction, as this performance is the precursor for the transfer of the book to the Theatre in 2022.

Harris Michailidis:  Guitar, song
