22nd Festival of Nafplion

The 22nd Nafplion Festival is taking place this year from Friday 21st to Sunday 30th of July 2013, in the beautiful Anapli, the oldest capital of Greece, with artistic Director Yiannis Vakarelis and the organizational responsibility of the Phormigx Travel Agency.

After 22 years, the Nafplion Festival is recognized as one of the most consistent and successful series of events of the Greek region, it has hosted some of the brightest groups and artists of the international classic stage and it has been honored with the Award of the Best Festival by the Union of Greek Music Critics. In the framework of its activities, more than 250 Greek and foreign artists, among them some of the well known names of the world, 22 quartets, 18 symphonies and orchestras, a large number of new artists and the Greek National Opera with the Pocket Opera.

Their concerts, which are carried out with a minimum ticket, at the magical monuments and squares of Nafplio, have attracted more than 190.000 visitors, Greeks and foreigners, from the local community, from Athens and the rest of the Greece as well as loyal friends who attend it every year , highlighting the cultural value of the Festival.

The 22nd Festival has as a center the Greek cultural and musical creation as a debt that all of us at the festival feel that this is the way it should be, while the surrounding negative atmosphere that lingers in our country is the reason that we tend to forget who we were and who we are. The basic program varies with unique music by classic and contemporary composers and honored artists of the world.
