1st LOW BUDGET FESTIVAL or, else, Arts in low budget times!

10 groups, 10 plays, 30 performances and 60 actors put their individual mark on the theatrical proceedings of the city. The 1st LOW BUDGET FESTIVAL is coming true from November 20th 2010 for a whole month, at Michael Cacoyannis Foundation, offering space to new, subversive Theatre approaches, in order to offer, accordingly, expression pace to young creative artists. As Lakis Lazopoulos, the driving force of the festival, highlights, we are going to meet the top representatives of this young theatre generation, who fight for a long time without having great support and sponsorships, the artists who are asked to offer breath of life to the entire brand new project, all these who are asked to enlighten theatre during this dark period for all of us.

It is all about an important initiative and production by the new cultural website of Lakis Lazopoulos, www.tospirto.net, in the line of which, 10 Greek Theatrical Groups present their new productions having as budget just the amount of 500. This way, the Athenian audience will have the opportunity to attend the new theatrical trends, the directors and the groups that set apart in the local theatrical scene, together, in a festival that hopes to prove that imagination and talent are more than enough, in order someone to make art, even in hard times of low budget.
