AT THE CHERRY ORCHARD

 
Michael Cacoyannis Foundation celebrates Christmas with classical music and classical cinematograph! Following the Baroque concerts and the musical-theatrical performances about the french composer Claude Debussy, this Christmas at Cacoyannis Theater will have Russian flavour:
Michael Cacoyannis’ movie the ”Cherry Orchard” (1999) -the very first filmed version of Anton Chekhov’ s theatrical play (1903)- will be mixed with music by Tchaikovsky, Prokofiev and Shostakovich performed by flutist Natalia Gerakis and pianist Apostolos Palios. Characteristic scenes from the film will alternate with music masterpieces, all leading to a dramatic  culmination of the evening.
All proceeds will go the the Parish of the Estavromenos Tavrou
to support their unemployed and homeless aid program
