A BREATH OF LIFE | A thriller play by Nektarios Bouterakos

The “Alitexnes” theatre group presents the thriller play “A Breath of Life” (“Mia Anasa Zwhs”) by Nektatrios Bouterakos. A story which twists itself around the meaning of life, death and faith. Faith in God, faith in nature, faith in oneself. It portrays the journey of the young hero who has buried, deep within himself, every sort of emotion, which in the end turns into a raging storm which threatens to drown him and everyone around him.The play was awarded the 2nd place at the Athstage’s 2nd Athstage Festival in July 2015 and was the first choice of the audiences.

Summary
On a rainy night, Phaedon, along with his pregnant wife, Mina, knock on the door of a strange family in a remote village, after having been in an accident due to the terrible weather. The strange family consists of the father, Michail, his precocious daughter, Stella, and his rather odd and reserved son, Mahos. Michail is outwardly hospitable but the atmosphere is quite obviously charged. The awkwardness of this exchange is interrupted by yet another accident. A mother knocks on Michail’s door, holding in her arms her half-dead daughter, Anthi. To Phaedon, Anthi looks dead, but, to his great surprise, the girl comes down – quite alive – from Michail’s attic after some time.
