The “International Proscenium for Students and Youth” in Ancient Olympia can certainly be the most important theatre event for young people around the world whilst, during its duration, Olympia – and its surrounding areas – will be turned into one of the most visited sites in Greece.

 

Michael Cacoyannis Foundation, the 11 theatrical teams from Greece and abroad, the members of the Organising and Advisory Committee of the Programme and their colleagues, The Region of Western Greece and the Municipality of Ancient Olympia invite students, teachers and the public to this four-day spring event of knowledge, joy and creation at Ancient Olympia, with the certainty that the wind and weather shall be fair, as has been predicted there in the valley of Alfeios, lending beauty and life to the days and nights of this special occasion.

 

Michael Cacoyannis Foundation would like to thank the Region of Western Greece, and, in particular, the Regional Vice Governor, Mr. George Georgiopoulo, the MP of Ileia and former Minister, Mr. Constantinos Tzavaras,  the Municipality of Ancient Olympia and the Mayor, Mr. Euthemios Kotzas, Ms. Elena Bazini, Operator of the Sub-Project 1 of the Project “Design and production of educational material towards the promotion of the importance of theater in antiquity and nowadays” of the Directorate of  Museums of the Hellenic Ministry of Culture, Education and Religious Affairs,  Mr. Nicolaos Lolos, special advisor to the Municipality of Ancient Olympia, as well as all of the residents of the area, for their cooperation and support of this new event.
