“The Double” A theatrical adaptation of the homonym novel by Jose Saramago, translated by Athena Psyllia

Tertouliano Massimo Afonso, professor of History in high school, lives alone and is bored. He was married and not remember what led him to the wedding, got divorced and not remember the reasons of that, while for a long time History is a meaningless fatigue, a beginning without an end. One night, while he is watching a movie, he discovers that in his city there is an absolute twin, a double, a copy of himself. The consequences of this case, the process of search and discovery of the “other” will be extreme and final for him. For many, it is the best novel of the maturity of the great Nobel Prize winner author.
