IN GALATAS LIGHT RAIN – Musical-theatrical performance directed by Panos Skouroliakos
Every Monday and Tuesday at 21:00

A Musical-Theatrical Performance
STO GALATA PSILI VROXI
Following the first successful round of performances at the Michael Cacoyannis Foundation, Panos Skouroliakos’ theatrical-musical performance is back for a new round of performances, as always, at the same venue.
A performance which resembles a boat ride along the city waters of Smyrna, our own East, our fellow travelers in song and with musical instruments, Theodosia Stiga, Haik Giazitzian (oud), Manos Koutsaggelidis (kanun), Fotis Tsoranidis (guitar) and Panos Skouroliakos on the theatrical side, with texts from Nikiforos Romanou, Nikitas Choniatis, Miltiadis Chourmouzis, Themis Panou, and stories of everyday people. Also participating in the performance is the puppeteer, Costas Spyropoulos, bringing Karaghiozis to well-known territory, behind the mperntes!
Songs and texts sound different in this performance. In Constantinople with its many and diverse cultures, in cosmopolitan Smyrna, and also in Syria and Lebanon a meeting of sounds and words takes place that are Greek, Armenian, Arab and Turkish, forming a hearty group where everyone is welcome. A trip through the past which is simultaneously the present of all these places and people. Theodosia, Haik, Manos and Fotis share with us songs in different languages thus creating an enchanting and harmonious musical mosaic.
The performance “Sto Galata Psili Vroxi”, which will take place in the atrium of the Michael Cacoyannis Foundation on the 3rd floor, every Monday and Tuesday from the 6th of October to the 9th of December 2014, at 21:00.
