Find time to laugh –
that is the music of the soul.
Find time to be a child –
and you will feel truly human.

On Friday 9th May 2014, at 21:00, 11 of the best Greek stand-up comedians and young choreographers and musicians take to the stage at the Michael Cacoyannis Foundation to support the work done by UNICEF for society’s weakest and most innocent citizens, its children.

The fifteen young artists decided to offer their craft as a small gift of life to children in need, a gift of a smile, of laughter, of a thrill and finally of hope – because art and laughter can bring smiles of joy to every child’s face.  Everyone has a place on this journey and it is up to us all to lend a helping hand in order to change the lives of these children for the better.

Taking part in this evening of joy, of giving and of optimism are the following stand-up comedians (in alphabetical order):

Dionyssis Atzarakis, Katerina Vrana, Dimitris Dimopoulos, Byron Theodoropoulos, Chryssa Katsarini, Constantinos Ravniotopoulos, Aristotelis Rigas, Silas Serafeim, Lambros Fisfis, Dimitris Christoforidis

Joining them on stage are the dancers / choreographers, Katerina Alexandraki and Sara Toscano. Also the talented young artists from the music scene, Magda Baroucha and Alexandros Kouros who will be presenting, for the first time, the song “Na mou gelas” which they wrote for UNICEF and specifically for this event.

Presentation and Direction: Giorgos Xatzipavlou

The proceeds from the performance will be donated to support the program “Godparent for UNICEF” whilst all the participating artists hope that it will evolve into a yearly event in aid of these children and UNICEF.

The program “Godparent for UNICEF” is a systematic program which is crucial to enabling the better programming of UNICEF’s actions on a life-saving level.

“Godparent for UNICEF”, within the monthly program, provides the necessary medical care, vaccines, food, mosquito nets and hydration salts every day, all year round, to children in need, whose lives depend on it. It is a gift of life to the children which secures their future.

The event will take place in cooperation and with the support of UNICEF and the Michael Cacoyannis Foundation.
