Writing Workshop Theatre Play with Nina Rapi
The writer Nina Rapi will hold Workshop called Writing Theatre Play at Michael Cacoyannis Foundation.
An introductory course which will focus on the small form, possibilities and peculiarities. We will explore the basic principles of theatrical writing such as thematic/ideas Character Structures, dialogue, scene construction, structure, style – with presentations, exercises and text analysis of contemporary and classical theatre.
I will also refer to other elements of a theatrical performance as scenery/props, music, lighting and other audio-visual means and how they contribute to theatrical writing, in its total. Important part of the workshop will be devoted to constructive criticism – in readings/discussions/analysis of the texts of the participants, who will be guided to develop and complete a play short duration, 10-20 minutes. The circle might close with a short presentation of the works or extracts.

NINA RAPI’S BRIEF CV
Nina Rapi writes theatre plays and short stories. Her theatre plays are Kiss the Shadow, Angelstate, Edgewise, Reasons to Hide, Lovers, Ithaca, as well as her monologues have been awarded, presented or read in UK (theatres Gielgud, Soho, Lyric & Southbank Centre among others), USA, Portugal, India and in Greece, at the National Theatre (2010). Her short stories have been published in UK, USA and Greece. She has taught creative/theatre writing at the universities of London and Greenwich for many years. She was also the founding editor-in-chief of the pioneering magazine Brand Literary Magazine.
