Tragicomedy
Theatre Company T3XNI

Direction: Sofia Filippidou

The actress and director Sofia Filippidou returns with the Theatre Company T3XNI at Michael Cacoyannis Foundation for one more delightful performance. Their present work is on Bost’s (Mentis Bostatzoglou 1918-1995) “Fausta or the Lost Daughter” (1962).

Director’s Notes
The Theatre Company T3XNI was founded by me in order to teach theatre to university students that are accommodated at Kritiki Estia (Cretan Home) Foudation. The students’ theatre was an idea that I conceived and implemented with the creation of that company in 2000. Since then, we have presented more than 10 plays ,always with students that are interested in theatre and theatrical play games. This year, I have chosen “Fausta” by my beloved teacher Bost! It is a play that I know by heart, as far as I have been dealing with it for three times.

With this performance, we want to find again our happiness through improvisation. My student actors seek all these raw elements deriving from our ignorance, innocence and enthusiasm. We are going to present “Fausta” for three consecutive days and we want to dedicate our performances to Bost.

Some of Bost’s notes on Fausta are: It is a play with adjustable duration, multiple possibilities on scenic presentation and suitable for all kinds of troupes. These things are unique for the international dramaturgy. Something that was impossible for Shakespeare and Aeschylus, it was made by me without any fierce effort. No more to say.

With that fragment by Bost that was printed in Fausta’s theatrical program (Theatre Amalia, Thessaloniki, 1972-73) we invite you to our theatrical “game”. No more to say!
