THE BANKRUPTCY OF GOLFO (Script-Direction: Pericles Matarangas)

The “Theatrical Workshop of the Lighthouse for the Blind People of Greece” will present the play “The Bankruptcy of GOLFO” at Michael Cacoyannis Foundation, on Thursday 23rd of May 2013, at 21:00.

The theatrical action is situated at a bus station, the place where the agitated travellers and the crew of the station can get to know each other and narrate their personal stories, because of a bus three-hour delay. Everyday stories, comical or non-comical stories, stories of ordinary people, narrated stories that are presented to the audience, until the resonance of the announcement of the bus departure. The curtain falls with a forgotten melody.

The “Theatrical Workshop of the Lighthouse for the Blind People of Greece” was launched in October 2007 and has enjoyed several memorable performances. All the members that are involved in the Theatrical Group are visually impaired (to varying degrees, from the ages of 25 to 65 years old). The participation of these people at the theatrical workshop allows them to express actions, improve self-esteem and challenge improvisation.
