“I am sharing” is a unique exhibition by three “art lovers” seeking through their art the signs of our times. Objects, texts and reactions that were gathered during the first exhibition are creatively transformed and they reveal how the creators and the visitors of the exhibition experienced the notion of “sharing”.
The exhibition “I am sharing” that was held at the Video-room of Michael Cacoyannis Foundation for only two days during the Christmas period (21 and 22 of December 2012), it was a unique exhibition, prototype of another to come. The objects of art that were exhibited by the three artists (Eri Stai, Kostas Pitsios, Aliki Kritseli) communicated their messages and credos and they could be exchanged with a beloved object owned by each concerned person. In parallel, the person will confess the meaning of his offer and the way in which each piece of art reflects on his/her inner world.
And now, the time has come for a follow-up exhibition: Michael Cacoyannis Foundation hosts the exhibition “I am sharing the sequel”, from Friday 1st to Sunday 10th of February 2013. The exhibition will attempt to keep a unique record of our harsh times through the emotional distress, the embarrassment and the desires that all the collected items are reflecting. Hands, voices, phrases and emotions are present and they create a special amalgam.
Objects, texts and reactions that were gathered during the first exhibition are creatively transformed and they reveal how the creators and the visitors of the exhibition experienced the notion of “sharing”.
The three artists state:
“We have shared together the dream for another meaning of life. Through an exchanging process, without a beginning or an end, we abolish the dictatorship of “possessing” and we experienced the joy of giving.
They told us:
“Past, present and future. They co-exist in one action!
“I am sharing, there is no beginning or an end. Just what’s happening in a circle.”
“I want my giving to have a special meaning to someone else. This is the way of getting the meaning of life.”
“There is no other need, just get rid of some of your belongings.”
“The time when you get separated from the symbol and you have to move on”
