“Grimm’s fairy tales and their Greek little brothers”
A collaboration between the Museum of Greek Children’s Art
the story teller Sassa Voulgari
and the Michael Cacoyiannis Foundation.

Due to success, 2nd narration is organised at 11:00am

The story teller Sassa Voulgari organizes in collaboration with the Michael Cacoyiannis Foundation a number of events to celebrate the 200th anniversary of the 1st publication of Grimm’s fairy tales and the 20th anniversary of her presence in the field of professional narration.

In this context and in collaboration with the Museum of Greek Children’s Art, a narration of fairy tales, in Greek, will take place on the 15th of September 2012 at 11.00 & 12.30 am. by Sassa Voulgari at the Michael Cacoyannis Foundation, 206 Piraeus str. Entrance will be free.

The aim of this collaboration is to allow children that will listen to the fairy tales, be inspired by the stories in view of participating in the Sunday art workshops “Zoom on Art” organized on the 16th, the 23rd and 30th September 2012 at the Museum of Greek Children’s Art, 9 Kodrou str. Plaka

The artworks created in the Museum’s workshops during those 3 Sundays will be exhibited at the foyer of the Michael Cacoyiannis Foundation in late November.

The new Sunday art workshops, at the Museum of Greek Children’s Art “Zoom on Art”, focus on a variety of subjects that will run on a monthly basis but each subject has also been designed so as to be carried out on a two hour long program.

Subjects are drawn: from collaborations with other institutions as well as significant moments in the history of art.

In each program at the Museum’s workshop the aim is to discover, along with the children, different approaches and points of view, to experiment with a variety of materials and techniques, to express ourselves and communicate, showing that art may become part of our everyday life, it may indicate new directions, it may cultivate new aesthetics and conceptual values.
