The guitar duet DODECACHORDON with Notis Georgiou and Susan Marku for the first time ever in Greece

The DODECACHORDON for the first time ever in Greece in 2 concerts in July 11th & 12th 2012 at the Theatre Hall of Michael Cacoyannis Foundation.

Performers: Susan Marku and Notis Georgiou

Greek and Cypriot citizen, born in the semi occupied Nicosia, despite growing and working abroad, I always carry along the mark of my homeland as well as Hellenism. It is therefore I undertake with great joy the performances at the Foundation which safeguards the memory of a prime compatriot and artist.

The program includes the French Suite No. 2, in C minor by J.S.Bach arranged by me for 2 guitars (Wednesday, June 11th), the first world premiere of my piece Folías all’ antica based on works by Marais, y Coll, Corelli, Farinelli with the most popular, perhaps, musical theme: the so-called Folía-Follia-Folie, commonly madness, as well as my piece Cyprian Diptych (Thursday, June 12th). The concerts end up with the Rebetiki Suite by Vassilis Tenidis, a work that derives from the abundance of the rebetika music, which is reshaped and reformed by into one of the most successful duets.

I warmly thank the Foundation for its kind hospitality, the Ambassador of Cyprus in Greece Mr. Josef Josef, under the auspices of whom the concerts take place, the House of Cyprus for the kind interest they embraced the initiative, as well as the beloved George Koumentakis, thanks to whom I firstly contacted the Foundation.
