The concert is a tribute to a great lady of musical theater and cinema, Yvonne Printemps. One of the most acclaimed actors-singers of the interwar period, who during her fifty-year career had inspired composers, poets and filmmakers.
The concert presents a collection of songs from the operetta “Trois Valses” by Oscar Straus, premiered on April 21, 1937 at the Théâtre des Bouffes-Parisiens. Yvonne Printemps interpreted the three female lead roles. Two pieces by Francis Poulenc are going to be performed, among them the famous “Les chemins d’amour”, which the composer wrote in 1940 and dedicated it to the great singer. Two more waltzes, an operetta by Franz Lehar “Giuditta” and the famous “Je te veux” by Erik Satie compose the romantic style of concert.
