Michael Cacoyannis Foundation hosts
the Story-teller Sasa Voulgari and organizes, following an agreement
with the administration departments of the schools, educational
performances for preschool age children as well as students of all
levels of the primary education. It is all about a fascinating journey
through the magical world of tales, by the prime mover in the fields of
live story-telling for students of all ages.

THE TALES
“The neo-Greek tale is an extremely serious case, the seriousness of which, though, quite a few even nowadays have realized. It is a serious matter in regards of tradition, science, art and life.”

Folk tales, subject now on to the scientific research, continue to surprise for their power as well as beauty, and despite their simplicity, they give, in their own way, answers to the questions of life, since they do originate from the dawn of the human culture history. The traditional stories as well as the oral narration of tales, form one of the contemporary educational tools, since they are exceptionally beloved by children of all ages. Furthermore, tales are considered as a “childish” genre only in our present times.

THE STORY-TELLER SASA VOULGARI
The story-teller Sasa Voulgari is self-educated and belongs to the prime movers of neo-narration (for adult as well as children audience) in Greece, with a constant professional activity since 1993. She is a psycho-educator with specialization in the fields of alternative teaching and experienced in educational and creative programs as well as the special education. Her prolific as well as of high quality artistic production proves that she is one of the most prominent artists in the sector of professional narration, with a significant influence on the upcoming generations of story-tellers. Having their shows frequently, she has created stable “posts for tales” and since 1996 she has been cooperating regularly with Museums, creating specialized and interdisciplinary programs. Having shaped her own method, she teaches at seminars and she participates in conferences and symposiums for the story-telling art since 1995. In 1998 she narrated 13 Greek fairytales for the public television ET1. She frequently writes articles for Kathimerini newspaper.

THE STORY-TELLING PROGRAMS
Sasa Voulgari has designed programs and has narrated tales to students of all ages, from the preschool to the high school age, throughout Greece. She was the first to establish the professional narration within the
school frame, already since 1996. Especially designed clothes and self-designed handcrafted scenery according to the subject, original music instruments from all over the world, vocals and songs, a huge diversity of traditional oral speech genres ,like dialects, tongue-ties, lullabies, epic stories, and so many other, consist the original narrative way of Sasa Voulgari. Her narration is interactive and is being transformed in relation to each group, promoting the communicational dimension, helping children to concentrate, communicate, observe, listen carefully, imagine, meet cultures and human conditions, evaluate and after all enjoy.

CHOOSE A NARRATION PROGRAM

Following an agreement, you can choose a narration program that best fits the developmental level of the children or a thematic unit that you already use at school. The repertoire of Sasa Voulgari includes over 300 tales while she can always shape a new program according to your needs.

THERE IS AVAILABLE SUPPLY OF BIBLIOGRAPHY, PUBLISHED TALES, ARTICLES AND OTHER RELEVANT MATERIAL.

FOLLOWING AN AGREEMENT, ALL THE PROGRAMS CAN BE ACCOMPANIED BY MUSICIAN

The performances are going to take place every Wednesday at 10:30 following an arrangement with interested schools from October 2011 to April 2012.

The ticket price for group bookings of your school classes is €6 per student.
