The corporate series – photography exhibition by Takis Tsantilis

New York – Manhattan: The photographer wanders around taking pictures during the night. The city serves as a vast urban landscape, a melting pot for everything. His lens zooms on the building’s exteriors which house emblematic corporations, commercial banners and storefronts of international companies, closed for the nighttime, fashion stores – mention to his previous occupation. Human presence remains just suggestive. Human figures behind windows, some, only a few lonely passers, or even, manikins who pretend to be human beings. His point of view, almost impressionistic, illustrates whatever sees without critical mood, with a slightly sarcastic tenderness of a night walker.

It is the first photography exhibition of Takis Tsantilis, who for many years now is involved with fashion, either in front of the camera or behind it. Cofounder and creative director, amongst others, of the men’s magazine “MEN”, the first fashion men’s magazine in Greece and style director for “Life&Style” magazine, amongst many others. During the last 10 years works exclusively with photography.

A few words about the Athens Photo Festival
Athens Photo Festival, forms since 2008, the continuity of the International Photography Month in Athens, an event with a twenty-year history that was the major and oldest Greek institution with large-scale events focusing on the art of photography.

During this transitional period, which marks the end of an era, while at the same time giving rise to a new beginning, the festival will introduce its future form and course, transcending the format which for two decades designated that the festival would run in the month of October, and extending its cultural interventions throughout the autumn, with November being the main month for events.

This is a cultural event whose impact is worldwide, transforming Athens into the centre of the international photography stage. The aim of the festival is to broaden the existing platform for presenting the annual Greek photography output and making contacts with artists from various countries. (source: photofestival.hcp.gr)
