A few words about the Tango Film Festival
The 1st International Film Festival on Tango will take place on May 8-14 in Michael Cacoyannis Foundation and Tango 365. On May 8th the festival will be presenting in world premier the film “Tanguero” by Emanuele Persico as well as, the documentary film “Eyes Closed” by Simonetta Rossi. Moreover, there will be presented 40 short films by Argentina and 10 other countries.

Synopsis
Omar, a Tango instructor, is forced to return to Buenos Aires because of an important phone call. He discovers an unrecognizable city, meets relatives, old friends and meets Veronica, his childhood friend. They remember the time they had spent together years before and decide to take on a difficult challenge. Thats how Omar rediscovers himself in Tango.
Premiere in Greece for the documentary film “Eyes Closed” by Simonetta Rossi
Synopsis
Meet Rosanna, a young artist, that through tango discovers a new language to communicate with her own companion. We understand through her eyes, how this dance can transform the soul and the body. Meet Nicola, Pietro, Simonetta and others, who witness how tango serves our basic needs. At the plot participate the new generation of dancers like ( Sebastian Arce, M. Montes, Chico Frumboli..)
The internationally acknowledged photographers Arndt Gockisch and Zerrin-Aydin Herwegh, as well as the visual artist Carlos dall’ Asta present their artworks on the subject of tango. This exhibition is environed by works of Greek photographers.
For the first time in Athens, are presented works of art with a tango thematic.
The renowned artists Arndt Gockisch (Germany) and Zerrin-Aydin Herwegh (Germany), having participated in international photography exhibitions and tango festivals, manage to immortalize with their photographic lenses the movement, the feeling, the passion and the ecstasy that a tango dancer experiences. Each of them gives his own aspect of tango as a mean of communication, way of expression and social event.
