Summary
A ragged street boy makes friends with a neglected tree, struggling to survive on a dreary city pavement. In that way they escaped both the loneliness of urban life. One evening close to Christmas, the tree, having seen the splendidly trimmed Christmas trees standing in the windows of nearby houses, and longing to be as beautiful as they are, begs the boy to trim it too. But the boy has neither ornaments nor money to buy any?in fact he has nothing. How can he make this withered,?shriveled tree look beautiful, there in the middle of a filthy, freezing pavement? And yet this night will prove to be a very different night from every other. It will be a night when dreams come true, a night of enchantment and magic.
The director about his film: A tender fairy tale centered on the friendship between a withering and forlorn tree on the sidewalk and a homeless little boy. The film touches in a heart warming, humane manner issues such as: Desolation, Abandonment, Loneliness, The Urban Landscape as a source of Social Isolation, Nature and how we choose to disregard it, Basic survival needs such as hunger and shelter, for all those living on the margins of a society we take for granted. It hopes to show children what it means and feels like being on the other less fortunate person’s position, and despite of that do something meaningful which transforms in a positive way everything around us.

Summary
Butterflies is a short film created by Helena Papanikolaou, a student of the Department of Grafic Design at T.E.I (Technological Educational Institute) in Athens, Greece. The film was created for the animation 3 course , with the traditional method of 2D animation, drawn frame by frame by hand. There were used colored pencils – aquarelles on transparent rice – paper. The story is about a usual incident happening in the life of butterflies during the day. It is a cycle – story , because it ends at the exact point where it began, something like the unstoppable orbit of the sun or the earth around itself or with each other. It implies the circles of life.
The director about her film
The director about her film Butterflies is my first animated short film lasting approximately 2 min.It was created for the animation 3 course of the Graphic Departmant at T.E.I. (Technological Educational Institute) of Athens,Greece. The procedure of creation involves the drawing of every frame by hand . I used coloured pencils – aquarrelles on semi – trasparent shits of rice – paper .The movement of each butterfly is specially designed therefore it took me about the whole semester to finish the project. The medium is difficult ,too, so I had to make a large number of drawings until to be satisfied with the exact frames. But, with the precious help of my proffessors in animation course,Stelios Polychronakis and Spyros Siakas, I completed the film on time. From this film I understood what is an animation film to its core,I learned about the pace , pause and synchronization between frames and sound, in order to have a nice aesthitic result.

Summary
As he works, the painter Vassilis Stavrou makes mental trips to the place where his images originate. This film doesn’t endeavor to analyze his technique (a combination of painting and photography); rather, its an attempt to express the inner journey of his images from their place of origin, the little Greek village in Epirus where Stavrou grew up, to the finished canvas. The texts are a selection of the artist’s notes, intercut with excerpts from an old diary that his grandfather kept between 1922-1937. While in his diary his grandfather constantly refers to the struggle against nature to keep life going, the artist’s struggle consists in trying to achieve a more precise depiction of these primal images that accompany him while he works; images in which the “stare of the animal” is the main theme.
