Encounters at the End of the World -Presentation of the film and Q & A session with Werner Herzog

There’s a society hidden at the end of the world. A thousand men and women live together in a tight space in Antarctica, risking their lives to carry out scientific research. For the first time, an outsider is admitted into the protected environment of this small community of idealists and philosophers. Herzog, accompanied only by one cameraman, penetrates the ice of the South Pole and portrays a world of extraordinary beauty. An extreme, pure meditation about nature, motivated by a place of absolute contrasts – between the Earth, fire and solitude.

Werner Herzog will present his film “Encounters at the End of the World” at Michael Cacoyannis Foundation on Tuesday November 24, at 20:00. After the screening a Q & A session with Mr. Herzog will follow.
