SUMMARY

The protagonist and tragic person, Electra, who is married to a villager, is waiting for the right opportunity to avenge the death of her father Agamemnon, king of Mycenae, who was murdered by his wife Clytemnestra and her lover Aegisthus. The opportunity arises when she meets Orestes’ brother again over her father’s grave. Together they plan and kill their mother Clytemnestra and Aegisthus.
