The visual artist Dimitris Maninis presents at Michael Cacoyannis Foundation his second retrospective exhibition, after the Venice Biennale where he was invited by the International Foundation of Visual Arts “Antonio Dal Ponte”.
The exhibition consists of 35 defining works of the artist that cover every period of his 45 years of activity.
For his works he used organic solvent oil, oil soluble pigments, acrylic paint, vinyl and airbrush. There are also sculptures made with high temperature ceramic and metals “dressed” with colored glazes that were created at the art studio Eroterra, in Tsagkarada, Pelion.
All of his artworks are anthropocentric and they have a dreamy atmosphere which derives from the confrontation between the mortal and the immortal, the temporary and the eternal. This atmosphere urges visitors to understand the self-mockery of the creator.
