Yinshang Rock Carving Art – International Tour Exhibition
Yinshan Mountains locates from west to east, along the south-central of Inner Mongolia. This sublime famous mountain occupies an extremely important position in the history of ancient China. As early as tens of thousands years ago, the prairie ancestors’ activities could be found here; later, the nomadic tribes such as Beidis, Huns, Xianbeis, Turkics, Uighurs, Tanguts, Mongolians and other tribes have come onto stage of history. In the long history, a variety of ethnic tribes who used to live here for a long time has gradually disappeared in the long history. However, rock art on great rocks in Yinshan presents to us vivid descriptions of the living environment and historical activities for hunters and nomads in the ancient times, which makes highly significance for us to deeply understand the prairie civilization of the social background and material basis. Yinshan rock art is one of China’s seven rock art treasure-house, dating its created time back to 30,000 ago, and lasted to late Qing dynasty. Yinshan rock art with its old history, wide distribution, huge quantities as well as high artistic value, made great contributions to human civilization of northern grassland ethnic in China.
