ARC: The UCSB Dance Company Leaping Forward, Looking Back
The UCSB Dance Company from the University of California, Santa Barbara, California.
performs ARC: Leaping Forward, Looking Back Saturday April 29 at the Michael Cacoyannis Foundation at 9:30 pm. The  company of 11 dynamic dancers is under the  direction of Delila Moseley, University of California. In a  celebration of the historical roots of modern dance, the company will be performing two works  by Jose Limon, reconstructed  by Professor Emerita Alice Condodina, former principal dancer with the Jose Limon Dance Company. Dances for Isadora will be performed in its entirety as well as the exciting excerpt from Psalm, The Running Dance.  Contemporary New York choreographer Andrea Miller of Gallim Dance has set her crowd-pleasing dance, Pupil Suite, on the company, and the evocative work Buffalo has been staged by Los Angeles contemporary choreographer Stephanie Gilliland. The UCSB Dance Company  has been described as an “ambassador of modern dance”, offering  new approaches to music, incorporation of dramatic elements, and always, throughout the show, emotional and virtuostic dancing.
Produced by the University of California, Santa Barbara, Iros Aggelos Dance Theatre and the Michael Cacoyannis Foundation.
