THEATRE “The Killing of the Revelers” Homer Odyssey RAPSODY X directed by Yorgos Pandeleakis

Yorgos Pandeleakis founder of the Theatrical Research Group “Meth’odos” presents at MCF the “Killing of the revelers” for only 9 performances.

Alone on stage, with a handmade metal forminx (ancient Greek string instrument) interprets “The Killing of the Revelers” Rhapsody X from Homer’s Odyssey, in the ancient original text in Prosody. It is the bloodiest of the saga, as its Alexandrian title denotes. “The murder reaches merciless cruelty stigmatizing Odysseus’s body with blood within his own home. Here we pass in the new era, a concept of human justice more advanced. The Gods regress back into the unconcious, man takes over”, Dr. Maronitis quotes. “Meth΄odos” team interprets through the laws of Metric the vibration-resonance of the ancient text and its translation in Prosody, creating vocal and orchistric schemes, interpreting in Prosody. The aim is not the reenactment of Archaic poetry, but its contemporary expression in Vision and Sound. The actor and the interpretation made are an animated ideogram in which “Poetry” remains a living electrosized organism whole and sufficient.
