The performance exists at the nexus where Fillips’ sculptures, characterization and performance interacts with So Crates’ soundscapes and spoken word. The project explores the themes of birth, fundamental characteristics, chaos, antitheses and humanism throughout history. It also deals with ancient and modern Greece specifically through the use of different visual and sonic tropes. At the same time the performance and its meanings are intentionally left open to the potentialities of evolution and individual interpretation, giving it a wider frame of personal and collective relevance.

Filippos Vasileiou lives and works in Athens. He is a graduate of the Athens School of Fine Arts, where he specialized in plaster casting, copper casting, and fresco technique. In 2009-2010 he attended the UPV in Valencia, Spain taking courses in Art of Action and Performance. He is also a Karate teacher. His art focuses on the combination of visual and martial arts. He constructs cumbersome, absurd, complex machines and costumes which force the human body and mind to be trained through them.
