“HOMER’S ILIAD” – The new theatrical performance by Karmen Rouggeri at MCF for schools

Every image, every word from the verses of the Iliad is enchanting, making us admire this great poet, our very own, our one and only Homer!

A few words about the work
Taking into consideration the fact that, in the Iliad, the poet isolates only fifty one days out of the ten-year Trojan War, it is important to first and foremost introduce the children to the main characters of the play we are going to see. In other words, who is Helen and who is Paris, Achilles, Menelaus, Hector and Agamemnon? After this we will learn how the Trojan War came about. Then we move on to the Iliad, which starts with Achilles’ wrath, his conflict with Agamemnon and his withdrawal from battle.  We will also look at the participation of the gods of Olympus in this conflict and the clash of the Greeks with the Trojans, the death of Patroclus and the duel between Achilles and Hector which ends in the demise of the latter.
And HERE the ILIAD ends but not our project…

We continue on to complete the Trojan War, to talk about the death of Achilles, the Trojan Horse and the destruction of Troy.
All of this as exactly accounted for and studied through the boundless source of our MYTHOLOGY, is what makes up the performance you are going to see.
