Acting Workshop with Giannis Skourletis and movement with Tasos Karachalios

bijoux de kant is an idea, an aesthetic value, an expression. It is the coexistence of many ideas, aesthetic values and expressions. Its love, as much of form, as of meaning, produces a result lacking in any dogma.

Bijoux de kant is an artistic entity which was formed to support and promote creative expression and critical thinking, the different forms of poetic language and idiom.

In this manner and after five continuous years of creation, bijoux de kant is initiating the Workshop about the Laban method in the art of acting by Dr. Kiki Selioni “Bijoux de Kant Factory”, an art-making factory which will begin its action with a series of three-monthly workshops focusing on acting and movement which will take place at the specially adapted underground area as well as the Black Box of the Michael Cacoyannis Foundation.

Bijoux de kant loves to study systems and mechanisms and is enraptured by the broken tooth on the cogwheel which causes the machine to fall apart and become something else.  This is how the idea of the Factory was born:  a factory in whose chambers the mechanisms of art will be disassembled and reassembled from scratch.

The visual artist and director, Giannis Skourletis, and the dancer and choreographer, Tasos Karachalios, will work with the participants on the techniques of contemporary theatre which start at and focus upon the body of the actor.

The seminars are of a three month duration and sessions will take place twice a week, the goal being that the material will result in a performance.

Workshop program:
Mondays: 16:00 – 19:00/ Movement with Tasos Karachalios
Thursdays: 16:00 – 19:00/ Acting with Giannis Skourletis

* Participants will have the option of either taking part in both parts of the workshops (acting with Giannis Skourletis, Movement with Tasos Karachalios) or solely one part.

Participation cost: €300 (both parts)/ €150 (one part)
* The workshops are aimed at actors, dancers and performers.
