The aim of this intensive practical seminar is to offer its participants the opportunity to gain the necessary knowledge to make their own film.

Through three primary subjects, script, direction and montage, the participants will be exposed to the basic principles of visual narrative and the way in which a story is told through the use of visual and acoustic media.  They will learn to transform an idea into a complete script and how to approach a script as a director.

The basic core of these seminars will be enriched by master classes concerning cameras, acting and production and also with projections of selected film excerpts which will be analyzed from the point of view of the director.

During the seminars, each participant will write a script, direct and edit his own short film of a few minutes, and will also be involved in the production of the other participants’ films, in a different capacity each time.  Participants may pair up for the script writing as well as the filmmaking.

The shooting of the films will take place at the Michael Cacoyannis Foundation.

Participation fee: 180€

A price reduction will apply for students, unemployed and former students of the School of Cinema.

Please note:
The seminar is for a limited number of students. Participation will be strictly on a first come first served basis.

At the end of the seminar, all participants will receive a certificate from the School of Cinema.
