Cavafy in Athens in the year of 2013!
More than a hundred and twenty years following his first journey during the summer of 1901, the poet visits afresh the Greek capital for three days, on December 13th, 14th and 15th, at Michael Cacoyannis Foundation.
The “host” of the great Alexandrian in Athens is the European Cultural Centre of Delphi. During the three-day festival c.p.cavafy@days_of_2013 renowned artists as well as artists of the younger generation approach Cavafy’s poetry through the performing and the visual arts, cinema and literature:

With this varied cultural festival, curtain falls on the programme “With Exquisite Music, Voices – 150 years since the birth of C. P. Cavafy” (eccd-etoscavafy.gr) that was organized by the European Cultural Centre of Delphi, co-financed by Greece and the European Union, Attica Regional Operational Programme, NSRF 2007-2013

Twelve cinematic works of documentation and fiction on the life and work of C. P. Cavafy and his home city, Alexandria. The program includes documentaries (Yorgos Avgeropoulos, Eglal Errera, Mary Koutsouri, Tasos Psarras et al.), fiction feature films (Yannis Smaragdis, Stelios Charalampopoulos), as well as short films which transliterate Cavafys poetry into their own cinematic poetry (Konstantinos Yannaris, Phyllis Katrapani, Franssou Prenant). The new documentary produced by the European Cultural Centre of Delphi, The Byzantine Cavafy (2013, Panos Kyparissis & Fanis Douskos), under the scientific supervision of Hélène Ahrweiler will be screened in loop on Saturday 13th and on Sunday 14th in the Video Room.
