The Association of Athenians (founded in 1895) has a long tradition in giving honorary prizes to personalities and institutions that offer their valuable services in the city of Athens, the society and the Arts.

This year, with the accomplishment of sixty years since the first award was given, the “Gold Medal” of the Association is going to be attributed to Mr. Dimitrios (Mimis) Plessas and Georgios Katsaros for their perennial artistic offer and their stance towards the Greek society. Their personalities can be considered as bright examples for the young people.
