What 2014 will look like? There will be more taxes? There will be light at the end of the tunnel? There will be any success story?
Two women from the near future know all the answers. They live the answers in their everyday life. Their confessions on stage are set up like performance or audition. And that guy with the severe voice? Why is he
continuously interrupting them?
Jo Hun 2014. A black comedy about job hunting!
What’s a “Jo Hun”? Why in 2014? Manina Zouboulaki -the scriptwriter of the play- notes:
“With the Crisis in my head, almost desperate, I had an encounter with Dimitra and Katerina, two normal women in not normal conditions of pressure. We were examining the Only Solution and “Jo Hun” was born. The play had its premiere at Michael Cacoyannis Foundation, in 2012 and the roles of the two women were based on express conversations over the last years.
This time, the play is adapted and directed by Pemi Zouni, starring Galini Tseva and Vana Pefani. The male role was omitted in the first version and now Nikos Soulis is playing this role.
“Jo Hun 2014” seems to be a different play. It is more provocative -almost a science fiction play- with beloved phrases and bittersweet dialogues. And what if I tell you that Dimitra and Katerina “live among us”? I am not lying.
