On Monday 13th of May 2013 at 21:00, the House of Cyprus organizes a Concert for Chamber Music at Michael Cacoyannis Foundation. The concert will be dedicated to the composer Andreas Argyrou and his pieces of music since 1988.

Andreas Argyrou was born in Cyprus. She was graduated from the National Conservatoire of Athens, where he studied the piano and Theory and Music Composition under the instructions of Michalis Travlos.  He also studied at the Philosophical School at the University of Athens. He has a master degree in Musical Composition at the Faculty of Music of the Music Academy of Belgrade.

He has composed music
for solo instruments, small and large music ensembles. His work has been presented in Greece and abroad, has been broadcasted by the Third Program of the National Greek Radio and the Cyprus Broadcasting Corporation and has been acclaimed in several contests.

In 1989, he was awarded in the National Contest of Music Composition that was organized by the Contemporary Conservatoire of Athens and in 1990 and 1992, he was awarded by the Greek Composers Union and the University of Boston respectively.

He teaches musical theory at the National Conservatory of Athens and musical theory and composition at the “Conservatory of Arts Acropoli”. He is an active member of the Greek Composers Union and the Director of the National Conservatory of Nea Smyrni.
