The composer Nikos Papakostas along with the ensemble of all-time great Mediterranean music CANTO MEDITERRANEO, which consists of great Greek soloists, invites us to a music voyage to the Eastern Greek Line of music, on Thursday the 15th of March 2012, at 21:00, at the Theatre Hall of the Michael Cacoyannis Foundation. The following join him: Dimitris Mpasis, Nantia Karayanni, Lydia Servou, Kosta Xyla singing, while the following actors participate as guest stars: Fei Xyla and Konstantinos Yannakopoulos.

The music voyage begins from Constantinople and ends in Epirus with intervening stops in Smyrna, the Aegean and Crete. The performance includes songs from the above mentioned territories and refer to the period of the 15th until the 19th century.  Moreover, parts from the composer’s works will be performed, works that gained international acknowledgement, like: BALKAN, SECRET EVE SONG, JOURNEYS AND DREAMS etc, as well as the folk oratorio THE ARTA BRIDGE, that has been presented in world premiere at the Athens Concert Hall (Megaron) 14/3/09 in conduction by the Conductor Michalis Patseas and has been included in the repertoire of the COMPAGNIA D’ OPERA ITALIANA, meeting great success.
