“FACES ON FIRE” – A composition of plays by Vasilis Katsikonouris by Theatre Workshop of the Municipality of Moschato – Tavros “En Drasei”

The Theatre Worksop of the Municipality of Moschato – Tavros, “En Drasei”, following its performances in the line of the 4th Inter-Municipal Non-Professional Theatre Festival by the Municipalities of Attica, during Summer 2011, continues the performances of the “FACES ON FIRE” (composition of plays by Vasilis Katsikonouris).

A few words about the play
Analyzing the biggest part of the entire work by Vasilis Katsikonouris (Completely Undignified, Missing Persons, California Dreaming, Good Luck, The Milk, The Harley Jacket or fortunately ok), in the line of a theatre seminar, organized in September 2010, by the members of the Theatre Workshop “En Drasei”, we realized the close relationship all heroes of those plays have among them.

In cooperation with the writer himself, we attempted to experiment, with some of them, transferring them into a united space, “strange”.

With the diverse interpretations of those archetypical characters, modern ones as well as classical, we tried to create a composition, a complex of tragic as well as common heroes, who try, each one in his or her own way, to be relieved from their own fears and desires. Heroes balancing within existence and non-existence. They hope for an identity. A destination: “Who am I?” What those people seek for, apart from their position “with” the others? Finally no acceptable just because they happened to walk on a thin line, “they are on fire”.
