A Big Hearted Cat by Piramatiki Skini Kalamatas

A huge black cat dreams of exploration voyages. Around him, his best friend Kserolas an educated rat and a worried grandmother.
A reckless female seagull dying near him poisoned by an oil spill entrusts him her last egg. How can he tend to a small bird ? How can he teach
it to fly? and when it does manage to fly will it leave him?.
This is a tender story of a friendship based on favorite childhood tales. When the playtime ends the realization comes that to teach someone to fly you don’t need wings but a big heart.

PIRAMATIKI SKINI KALAMATAS:
Piramatiki Skini Kalamataw is a non profit,  amateur theatre group which begun in 1990. Since then it has realized 43 greek and international plays.
Since 1999 it has established a permanent branch dedicated to puppeteer theatre and has realized 13 plays such as ”The three gifts”, ”O Fantasmenos”, ”Oi treis magikes foresies tis Triantafullenias”, ” 3 Christougienniatikes istories”, ” enas alliotikos Ai Vassilis”, ”Ntenekedoupoli”,  ” Koppelia”, H chora ton poulion”, ” o erotas tou Kuknou”, ”to taksidi tou Meleniou”, ” o kleftis ton asterion”, ” enas gatos me megali kardia” and more. It has also initiated various musical and cultural events, drawing and performing workshops, theatre-games for pre-school children and a permanent cast of young actors. It has always collaborated with accomplished artists, directors, actors, musicians and stage directors. Using the guidance of professionals it promotes amateur creations. It’s goal is to promote the theatre culture and entertainment towards children and young adults. It also strives to create original puppet and live actor plays by experimenting with new techniques to breathe life to the puppets. And last but not least Piramatiki Skini contributes to the cultural  upgrade of Kalamata. Piramatiki Skini Kalamatas has participated in numerous theatre festivals in Greece and abroad and has earned many acclaims.
It’s permanent sponsors are the City hall, Public organizations and local businessmen.
