“From the Beginning”

“From the Beginning”

Omada Epta presents the Devised Theatre Performance “From the Beginning”

based on the one act plays by Franz Xavier Kroetz “Heimarbeit”, (1971) and “Oberösterreich”, (1972)

Six actors, four women and two men, meet, within everyday routine, the same hopeless scenario. The promise for better days is a dead end, the circle of violence to which we are all bound to, are the reason for extreme emotional reactions. A CRY is formed out of despair. Is there a way out? Can be something done? Or are we observers of a phenomenon beyond us?

‘all these make no sense, from the beginning’
( ‘Heimarbeit’, 1971, Franz Xavier Kroetz)

Based on the one act plays by Franz Xavier Kroetz “Heimarbeit”, (1971) and “Oberösterreich”, (1972), [From the Beginning] explores and highlights the particular conditions of encirclement and pulpifying, which, to the opinion of Omada Epta, characterize modern societies.

“Omada epta” was formed in 2003. Based on the techniques and methods of Devised Theatre, “Omada Epta” aims to develop actions/acts that are founded on organized improvisations, emphasizing the visualization of emotional memory, free association and theatrical texts/ plays. The above canvas is the set for the creation of a multi-dimensional as well as fragmented present where everyday activities and narratives break the time and space convention, aboard the reality and fiction limitation and turn into a play of emotional pluralism, energy and messaging.
