Birds

Birds

Αttentive to the recent changes within the world’s socio-economic landscape, Dancers Dance Company feel the need to voice their concerns through the alternative performative space. Aware of the moral demise and underlying violence, which frame most economic crises, the company chose to take a stand, highlighting the interplay of these phenomena, within everyday life. In collaboration with multimedia artist Makis Faros, Dancers Dance Company creates a dynamic, ever-changing space, which transforms from a survival arena, to a plastic showroom and finally, to a deserted ruin, remnant of declining culture: of a derising, by-passing life. Aim: the restoration of the arena; a renaissance quest.

•  A space is built and transformed on stage, when the video projections alter its initial role and character.
•  Three choreographers (Maria Anthymidou, Aliki Kazouri and Mihalis Nalbantis) work independently with(in) this sifting landscape.
•  Six dancers employ their own personae and artistic visions to embody and interpret  the material that forms this new production, titled «Birds ».
