DANCERS OF THE NORTH
Ibsen “A Doll’s House” by Ibsen
Saturday, October 4, 2025
9:00 p.m.
The inspiration for “Dancers of the North” is Ibsen’s revolutionary and timely work, “A Doll’s House.”
Choreographed by Tatiana Papadopoulou and music by Manolis Famellos, A Doll’s House is defined as a space of questioning, deconstruction, conflict, and liberation.
Ibsen’s bold undertaking sparks a need to break free from social norms and redefine oneself. A Doll’s House functions not only as a feminist manifesto, but also as a symbol of liberation from social molds, as a testimony to the conflict between roles and desires, as a need to connect with our inner selves, as a need for communication, self-determination, and freedom.
Nora, as a symbol, reflects the face of all women and acts as a mirror of social afflictions and the need to escape, searching for herself.
The Doll’s House, a protected and elegant space, is distorted by elements of contemporary reality, revealing the signs of decay and the secrets hidden behind its walls.
The dancers—the heroes of Ibsen’s play—physically express their passions and desires. They reflect real everyday people and invite them on a journey of rediscovery and exploration.
The performance is suitable for ages 12 and up.
