The
performance of the play Ioulianos is based on a monologue that was
written by Theodosis Pelegrinis and it is going to be presented from
Monday 7th January till Tuesday 12th March 2013, on Mondays and Tuesdays
at 20:30, at Michael Cacoyannis Foundations Specially Configured
Underground Level.

The story: a veteran actor rehearses in his apartment. His role is the teacher of Emperor Ioulianos, an eunuch, a veteran of the royal court.
While Ioulianos is fatally wounded with a pike in a battle against the
Persians and he is lying in his tent, his own teacher tries to express
his complaint.

The old eunuch narrates the most important moments of his life that made him become attached to the Emperor.
During the old eunuchs narration, the veteran actor recalls in real
time all the events that stigmatized his life and made him becoming an
actor. The monologue ends with a massive twist of the rehearsal. The theatre inside the theatre of another theatre!

Ioulianos monologue, apart from its interesting plot, is based on a unique idea. Two personsKostas Kazakos being directed by George Maniotis and Theodosis Pelegrinis being directed by Pemi Zouni- are going to play the
same role of the eunuch, successively on the same day. These two actors
are not being aware of each others way of performing
.

The music for the performance of Pelegrinis and Zounis Ioulianos is composed by Notis Mavroudis.
