Deep compassion for the loss of Stella Soulioti

Deep compassion is caused to Michael Cacoyannis Foundation people and partners by Stella Souliotis loss. Michael Cacoyannis beloved sister has “passed away last night at the age of 92 years old in Limassol, Cyprus.

Stella Soulioti was a pioneer and one of the most important and active personalities in Cypriot social, political and state life. She took many key positions in order to serve her country. She was the first female lawyer in Cyprus, the first female Minister of the Cypriot Republic, the first and only female Attorney General in Cyprus and the first female minister of Justice worldwide. It is worth saying that Stella Soulioti was an active participant during the Cypriot debate as an executive advisor, until Tassos Papadopoulos government. Her work on the Cypriot chronicles is vast. For several years, she was the president of the Cypriot Red Cross.

Stella Soulioti was one kid of Aggeliki and Sir Panagiotis Cacoyannis four-kid family. Her brothers were the famous director Michael Cacoyannis and the lawyer Gogos Cacoyannis. Her sister was Giannoulla Cacoyannis Wakenfield, the president of Michael Cacoyannis Foundation.

All the partners of Michael Cacoyannis Foundation are expressing their deep grief to Stellas Souliotis only daughter, her sister, her nephews and nieces and other relatives.

The funeral will be held in Limassol, Cyprus, on Tuesday, 6 November 2012, at 14:00, day of mourning for Michael Cacoyannis Foundation.
