Following New York, the voyage of Doros Dimosthenous continues in Athens, with music from Cyprus and Mediterranean at the Michael Cacoyannis Foundation
DOROS DIMOSTHENOUS “From Cyprus and Mediterranean. A musical voyage”
He belongs to the most important performers of young generation; he has won the recognition as well as the trust of the greatest composers nowadays, while, every performance of his, charms Hellenism around the globe. He has just returned from New York, where through a nostalgic musical voyage, with theatrical rhythm and beloved songs, Doros Dimosthenous managed to excite and charm the audience in the crowded auditorium of the St Trinity Cathedral, in Manhattan, leaving the Mediterranean aura hover upon the Big Apple.
With this well structured music performance Doros Dimosthenous led his audience to Cyprus, Greece and the entire Mediterranean. Now he invites us to enjoy the same concert in Athens as well, on Friday, December 16th at 21:00 at the Michael Cacoyannis Foundation.
A voyage around Mediterranean, embarking from Cyprus and travelling to other ports and peoples, with which we are united by common destiny, sorrows and Mediterranean Seas history.
A melodious journey with peoples songs of a sea which has been the core for history as well as the global culture for many centuries.
Doros Dimosthenous performs folk songs, creations by peoples as well as composers. Focused on the songs of Cyprus from medieval times and renaissance up to nowadays.
On the parallel there will be some connecting texts, from folk tradition as well as writers who have visited our land or composed especially for the concert.
Special guests for the performance will be Lamia Bedioui from Tunisia, Eleni and Souzana Vougiokli from Thrace, Martha Mavroidi and more.
