Bijoux de kant – Dead and alive performers, ghosts and spirits on the Black Box stage… “Freedom or Death” at Michael Cacoyannis Foundation

The subversive musical band Graveyard Cafe Band, that made an impact in Athens theatrical life, returns to Michael Cacoyannis Foundation after their participation in the Blender Festival in the May of 2011 and presents the music performance «Graveyard Cafe Band / freedom or death», produced by the group «bijoux de kant», at the Black Box Hall of Michael Cacoyannis Foundation from the 5th of December and only for 8 performances.
The dream music is composed by the musician Kostas Dalakouras and the imaginative direction and set design is by the artist director Giannis Skourletis, who are the creators of the artistic group bijoux de kant.
Its a performance which drags up the rebellious romantic writing with Greek texts of the 19th and the 20th century. Dead and alive performers, ghosts and spirits hop on the stage in order to sing lyrics and words from Kalvos and Solomos to Napoleon Lapathiotis and Katerina Gogou.

Dead men awaken and remain vigilant.
They talk again, they talk within them, they say for good and
irreversibly the only phrase, the alone true.
Freedom or death.
