Michael Cacoyannis prefaces the film “Sweet Country”
The film Sweet Country of Michael Cacoyannis is going to be screened this Saturday, October 30th 2010, at 21:20, with the presence of the director and the composer, Stavros Xarchakos, at Michael Cacoyannis Foundation, in the line of the Tribute to 80s Greek Cinema during the 23rd Panorama of European Cinema. Michael Cacoyannis is going to preface the film screening by taking us to a journey to cinematic memories from a decade that was a transitional period and according to the majority of the audience, it is probably the most crucial in Greek cinemas history.
The film describes the painful events of the dictatorship in Chile after the murder of the President Salvador Allende, and the takeover by General Pinochet. The films talks about two families being trapped by the troops.
