This new comedy, full of hilarious one-liners from Makris’ Karagiozis, is perfect for the whole family!

The Pasha, inspired by other world leaders, dreams of pioneering in space exploration. The scientists and engineers of the Seraglio are working tirelessly to construct the most advanced space rocket.

All that remains is to assemble the crew for the mission to the Moon.

Karagiozis and his friends step up for the job, and the adventure begins!

A cosmic comedy filled with hilarious mishaps, captivating characters, and laughter by the bucketful.

 Post-Performance Interactive Exhibition
After the show, ticket holders can enjoy the interactive exhibition “The Suitcases of Shadows Tell Stories”. Children are invited to explore 10 authentic suitcases and trunks from shadow theater artists, filled with figures, props, tools, manuscripts, and more. Rare audio recordings from vintage vinyl are also on display.

Additionally, visitors of all ages will have the chance to interact with shadow puppeteers, hear stories from the past, and learn how to use tools, figures, and stage props.

Biographies

Kostas Makris – Shadow Puppeteer, Painter
Kostas Makris, a renowned shadow puppeteer and painter, was born in Patras. He apprenticed for many years under great shadow theater masters such as Giannaros, Sotiris Aspiotis, Mitsakis, and Kostaros. For over four decades, Makris has been a significant artistic presence in Patras and throughout Greece.

In 1989, he received the İpekçi Peace and Friendship Award in Istanbul, and his works have been exhibited at the Musée de l’Homme in Paris. In 2004, Makris was selected by the Hellenic Literary and Historical Archive (ELIA) to perform at events held in Athens during the Cultural Olympiad. Since then, he has continued collaborating with ELIA as the head of its Shadow Theater department.

The organization Patras Cultural Capital of Europe 2006 also partnered with Makris during its ten-day event series dedicated to Greek Shadow Theater. His works are hosted at the Musée de l’Homme in France, as well as in private collections in Italy, the USA, and elsewhere.

Babis Makris – Shadow Theater Artist, Folk Painter, Director
Babis Makris was born in Patras on December 8, 1995. At the age of 5, he performed his first 45-minute show at the Castle of Rio during the Politeia for Children festival.

The following year, he opened the International Film Festival in Pyrgos with the famous Karagiozis line, “We’ll eat, drink, and still go to bed hungry.”

His passion for shadow theater and painting emerged early as he began designing and creating figures and sets inspired by the original works of Kostas Makris and other great folk culture artisans preserved in the Makris Archive.

In 2012, he performed for the first time at the Spatharia Festival with his original comedy “Karagiozis and the Aliens”, earning rave reviews.

In 2017, Makris participated in the Its Kale Festival in Ioannina, performing “The Lake of Sighs” near the natural setting of Lake Pamvotis and the tomb of Ali Pasha.

He has since appeared in numerous Shadow Theater festivals across Greece.
