LifeArt Launching Gala in Beverly Hills – April 9th, 2017
An inspiring evening announcing the LifeArt Global Media Festival to Los Angeles took place last Sunday, April 9th 2017, at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel in Beverly Hills.
The Ballroom of the luxurious hotel was transformed to host the launching Gala, filled with the essence of Ancient Greece and the spirit of an authentic art scene.
The selected guests -a gathering of American Press that mingled with digital influencers, film industry experts and colorful Hollywood socialites- embarked on an idyllic date night with Zoe; the striking statuette created after the Greek figure of an archaic woman, the Cycladic Idol. Designed by the historic Zolotas House of Jewelry, Zoe is the official Award of the LifeArt Global Media Festival.
In a ceremony hosted by entertainment TV reporter George Satsidis and Hollywood actress Candice Coke, the audience was in awe to watch a short documentary on the late Greek director Michael Cacoyannis, made exclusively for the event. The five time Academy Award nominee whose work took the world by storm in the 50s and 60s, is the inspiration behind the LifeArt vision.
The Gala’s guests were thrilled to find out the iconic locations of the festival’s events in Athens, Mykonos and Santorini. LifeArt will kick off on July 2nd 2017 in Athens and will continue its journey to the cosmopolitan Aegean Islands, showcasing submissions for Web TV, Virtual Reality, documentaries, short and feature films.
During the event, it was officially announced that this cinematic journey will top off at the ancient theatre of Herodion right under the Acropolis, on July 12th 2017. With breathtaking clips of the exotic scenery and historic settings projected all around, the theatrical experience was enhanced by an aetherial presence of ten female figures in Grecian gowns and archaic Zolotas accessories, surrounding the most precious jewel of the night – the Zoe Award.
A festival that centers around New Media, LifeArt attempts to tie together the past, present and future. The Festival’s creative team shared the reason why Greece was chosen as the festival’s home: “Greece is a popular summer destination – but we aim to highlight its prominent artistic scene as a modern, cultural center where people from all over the world can share their talents and together celebrate: Life and Art.”
