The Michael Cacoyannis Foundation bids farewell to the conductor, Louli Psichouli
It is with deep sorrow that the Michael Cacoyannis Foundation bids farewell to the conductor, Louli Psichouli, a unique presence of the highest quality within the Greek cultural scene, who from the post-dictatorship period and onwards nobly gave her all to the cultural life of this country, for over 40 years, via her knowledge, her tenacity, her vision and her actions, enriching our cultural life and the image of the country.
The Michael Cacoyannis Foundation, with a profound sense of loss, remembers Louli Psichouli, who honoured us with her presence, her sensitivity and her gentility.
We had the honour and great pleasure of working side by side with her, along with the Athenaeum, towards the realisation of the 38th and 39th Maria Callas Grand Prix, Opera and Piano, in 2014 and 2015 and were already discussing the future events to come.
It is this sense of loss and void which strengthens our resolve to work as hard as we can to ensure the future continuation of Louli Psichoulis’ as well as Anna Koukourakis’ efforts and achievements.
We would like to express our sincerest condolences to her family and all her colleagues at the Athenaeum.
