The presentation of Denis Diderot’s work Madame de la Carliere is ongoing.  It is an edgy satire of the bourgeois class of the 18th century with obvious references to modern-day reality. It takes place in a living room of the times and discusses the consequences of the public criticism of the private life of a couple. The fable was written by the French philosopher and writer, Denis Diderot in 1772 and is being presented for the first time to Greek audiences.

Following the presentation of the work, a 30 minute lecture-discussion will take place. The lecture-discussion is part of the Laban method seminar which concerns the method’s application to the art of acting. It is also part of the postdoctoral research of Dr Kiki Selioni in collaboration with the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama University of London.

The research is supported by the Michael Cacoyannis Foundation, the Higher Education Mary Vogiatzi-Tragka Drama School and the “Ellinoekdotikh” publishers.
