1st International Forum: Ancient Drama in Education: Reflections – Views – Opposing Views

Ancient Greek dramatic texts have evolved to a universal commodity, a global culture legacy and inheritance for generations to come, thanks to their diachronic quality and unique depth of meaning.

The systematic promotion of the theatrical aspects of ancient drama in the educational process offers multiple benefits to everyone involved, due to the new skills, the profound understanding of values and the broader education they offer. Staging ancient drama, along with teaching ancient Greek language, literature and aesthetics, aims to enhance enormously the drama education of students of all academic levels – through the values contained in the works of ancient Greek dramaturgy – as well as to re-enforce collaborative creativity.
